LAIA is a public organization that unites companies, field specialists and those concerned with auto transport used on traffic roads.

The society aims to take part in realization and framing of field development plans; to promote field development in collaboration with other organizations in Latvia and international organizations; to promote the cooperation of companies with higher educational institutions and research institutes; to form consultative, technological and examination centres; to organize the mutual cooperation of companies and specialists in acquirement of perspective technologies; to improve the professional level of field engineers and to promote the professional development; to perform certification and licensing works in the field and to represent and maintain the interests of its members in the state of Latvia and public institutions, foreign states and international organizations.
