Manuel Wirth is a Senior Engineer at Porsche responsible for the development of brake rotors with a deeper focus on rotor coatings.
Manuel studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. Already within his education he was strongly connected to Porsche. After gaining an insight into several development divisions, he started to deal with the brake rotor in detail in 2015.
Within the last 7 years he supported the PSCB development from the scratch into the serial production. For the last 4 years he was screening the opportunities for alternative coating systems for brake rotors. Based on the estimated brake fine dust legislation, the project of coated rotors raised in its importance.
Due to his experiences he was shortly leading the concept phase of brake systems with coated rotors for the VW group.
