Nan Ma is a professor at Beijing University of Technology, PhD supervisor, theDeputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of Intelligence Perception and Autonomous Control, Ministry of Education, the Deputy Secretary General of China Artificial Intelligence Society, Executive Director of the Beijing Graphics Society, Young and Middle-aged Key Teachers in Beijing, IEEE/CAAI/CCF Senior Member. 

She serves on the editorial board of "CAAI Transactions on Intelligent Systems" and other domestic and international academic journals, and is a reviewer for CVPR and other international conferences and journals. Her research interests include interactive cognition, machine vision, unmanned vehicles, knowledge discovery and intelligent systems. In recent years, she has been invited to be an expert in many national and provincial  projects. She led teams to win the first prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of China Society of Image and Graphics in 2022 and the second prize of Science and Technology Award [technological invention] of Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2020. She has successively presided over a number of projects of NSFC, projects of Beijing Natural Science Foundation and Beijing Intelligent Manufacturing and Robot Technology Innovation Projects, and has presided over nine enterprise projects such as BAIC Group, Dongfeng Motor corporation. 

She is the head of the intelligent interaction team, and has led her team to win many international and domestic artificial intelligence and intelligent driving competitions. She has published more than 70 papers, including 56 SCI/EI-indexed papers, such as IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TIP, SCIENCE CHINA. In terms of talent cultivation. 

She is the course leader of the national first-class online course "Intelligent Interaction Technology", and has offered "Intelligent Interaction Technology" for 8 rounds in China University MOOC. She published the textbook "Intelligent Interaction Technology and Application" was awarded as the "High Quality Undergraduate Textbook Courseware" of Beijing University in 2021. 

She has been awarded the Second Prize of the Sixth National Education, the Second Prize of the Sixth National Excellent Achievement in Educational Research and the First Prize of the Beijing Teaching Achievement, and has guided students to award the First Prize of national and provincial subject competitions
