Presentation Title: Design and Development of Brake Caliper using Additive Manufacturing (EB2021-MDS-005)
Session: Posters, Monday 17 May 2021, 17:30 - 19:30 (Central European Summer Time - CEST)
What do you find most interesting about the topic of your presentation?
The braking system is an integral part of the vehicle. Design and development are always challenging tasks. I have incorporated the methodology of Additive manufacturing for the development of brake caliper by completing the vehicle dynamics and brake system architecture.
When discussing this topic with industry peers, what question are you most frequently asked? How do you answer it?
Are you going to carry out this research work for a ceramic-based or a metallic-based brake caliper and what material and its properties are you going to use?
To the above questions, I usually answer that I have worked on both ceramic and metallic-based brake caliper from the Additive manufacturing perspective along with the appropriate material characterization.
Who do you think will be most interested in your presentation, and who would you most like to ask questions about it?
The Research and Development department of brakes and vehicle dynamics in companies such as BMW, Audi, etc.
What specific topics or technology are you hoping to see in other presentations or in the exhibition?
Brake emissions, Improvised new design of the braking system for Light and heavy-duty vehicles and tribology-related stuff for the braking system.
