Name: Christoph Holtmann

Presentation Title: Design and Optimization Method for a High Power Eddy Current Brake with a Magneto-isotropic Material Structure for the Use in Electrified Heavy Duty Trucks (EB2020-EBS-017)

Session: High performance products, Friday 21st May 2021, 12:00 - 13:40 (Central European Summer Time - CEST)

What do you find most interesting about the topic of your presentation?

Explore the limits of eddy current brakes in terms of power density form the electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical point of view.

When discussing this topic with industry peers, what question are you most frequently asked? How do you answer it?

How should the material structure of the eddy current brake be manufactured?

Answer: We have a brief idea for an manufacturing process and we will test this in terms of the main challenges in the next years.

Who do you think will be most interested in your presentation, and who would you most like to ask questions about it?

Any Company that’s interested in wear-free braking systems.

What specific topics or technology are you hoping to see in other presentations or in the exhibition?

State of the art of wear free braking systems.
