EuroBrake 2022 call for papers is open

Updated: Sep 14, 2021

The EuroBrake Steering Committee invites you to submit a technical paper, presentation or poster for EuroBrake 2022, to take place in May.

The event is planned to host around 140 presentation slots in technical sessions across three days. These will include both full paper and oral-only presentations. As with previous events, poster submissions are welcome. Posters will be displayed throughout the event and shared during a dedicated poster session. In addition, poster presenters can have an accompanying pitch video that will be displayed on screens during the event.

Accepted papers will be published on EuroBrake.net and presentations and posters will also be shared on the website after the event, if author permission is given.

For each accepted submission, one author gets access to the online EuroBrake community for a period following the event.

The Steering Committee will work closely with reviewers and authors to create the industry-leading Technical Programme expected of a EuroBrake event. Planning for the event to be held virtually with the possibility of hybrid sessions and some from of exhibition is developing. Final arrangements will be dependent on the developing pandemic situation, but at the moment, the commitment is for a virtual event similar to that held in 2021. A summary of the 2021 event is available here.

With the continuing requirement to accelerate the move towards carbon neutral economies, we encourage submissions on environmental-friendly braking solutions for all types of applications including rail vehicles, electric road vehicles and wind turbines. Updated topic areas for 2022 include Numerical simulation and Scale and Sample testing, CO2 mitigation, AI Approaches to Brake Design, Optimisation of Thermal and NVH Performance, Reduction of Particulate Emissions and a new theme entitled Complex Systems involving Brakes that includes the following topic areas:

  • Integrated Rolling Chassis

  • Brakes in Wind Turbines/Rotational Machinery

  • Aircraft Brakes

  • Braking Test - Representativeness and Downscaling

  • Management and operational strategies

Being a part of the EuroBrake 2022 Technical Programme is your opportunity to reach an influential audience of braking specialists, to share knowledge and to connect with decision-makers from leading companies around the world.
