This White Paper is a follow-up to the highly successful FISITA membership collaboration that resulted in the Mobility Engineer 2030 White Paper, which reviewed the education requirements for the future of mobility engineering. The logical next step is to consider how engineering as a whole also needs to change, as the industry evolves – and what those changes will be, and how the industry will need to adapt. This has led to the development of the Mobility Engineering 2030 White Paper.
We're delighted to announce the availability of the first part of this paper.
Part 1, which is an overview providing an outline of the Engineering 2030 topic and contains contributions from the ‘Mobility Engineering Questionnaire’ conducted with FISITA Corporate Members as a key element of this project, in 2019. The feedback is significant and includes results from the FISITA Academic Advisory Board, Technical Committee, Industry Committees and the outcomes of independent, collaborative workshops held across four countries in Asia and Europe. It also has contributions from the German Metalworkers' Union, Munich University of Applied Sciences and from Competivation Consulting in Germany.
Part 2 will deep-dive into IT related aspects of mobility engineering, such as connectivity and AV, because this is clearly an area of significant and substantial change (compared to traditional car design). Part 3 will focus on the working life, because there will be no Engineering 2030 without engineers that are committed to this profession. Part 2 and Part 3 are scheduled for development and release later this year.
Part 1 can be downloaded for free by FISITA Corporate Members from the FISITA Store.
