What are you planning to talk about at the Intelligent Safety Conference, and who do you think will benefit most from what you have to say?
Cybersecurity of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) is now developing quickly to keep up with the fast-paced technological developments and the increasing number of cyber incidents. The general idea about my topic is cybersecurity and penetration testing, providing reference on security and preventive measures for OEMs, Tier-1 and 2 suppliers.
What factors do you expect to shape the development of intelligent safety technology? (e.g., legislation or standards, new technology, or changing consumer expectations)
Since cybersecurity of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) is still a relatively new domain, traditional vehicle regulations and security standards do not sufficiently cover the cyber threats related to modern-day connected vehicles. It is necessary to establish sets of regulations, standards, guidelines and best practices for cybersecurity technology.

What attracts you personally to the area of intelligent safety?
Sincerely, I had always been attracted by the amazing future of studying intelligent safety. Firstly, the introduction of intelligent technology has been desired because of it can bring convent in our life, like autonomous driving, facial recognition, iRobot. Secondly, the development progress of various safety technologies has supported the technological realization of intelligent. There is a large amount of work to be done to on intelligent safety to promote and enrich people’s lives. Thirdly, the 'age of intelligent' not only creates big challenges but also bring lots of opportunities. We can use existing safety technologies to solve new intelligent problems.

What advances or changes in intelligent safety would you most like to see implemented in mainstream vehicles?
According to the United Nations WP.29 CSMS regulation, most real-life cyber incidents fall into the multiple WP.29 cyber threat categories. Thus, the measures implemented in mainstream vehicles could be managing vehicle cyber risks, securing vehicles by design to mitigate risks along the value chain, detecting and responding to security incidents and so on.

About Bosong Zou
Bosong Zou has 8 years experience in the software industry and has, since 2013, been working at the China Software Testing Centre (CSTC) in Beijing. He has been engaged in multiple positions, including database management, software programming and cybersecurity consulting. He has been in charge of software testing of intelligent connected vehicle since 2019 as a vice general manager, and also acted as the referee of the 3rd World Intelligent Driving Challenge in the same year. Also since 2019, he has been arranging the construction of the ICV Laboratory of Ministry of industry and information technology of the people's Republic of China (Zhejiang Centre). Primarily he is engaged in researching cybersecurity of intelligent vehicles and Automotive Ethernet as well as related standards.

The event is co-organised in China by Jilin University and Automotive Innovation and supported by Tsinghua University and the CAICV SOTIF Working Group.
